RC FILTERS
RC filters are generally used in arc furnaces and in areas where instant switching is a common application. Switching arc furnace transformers create a move of wide range of currents from a few amperes to several kA with a cos of generally 0,2 to 0,8. In arc furnaces, there are high numbers of switching cycles of breakers that are approximately 100 operations per day. The absorbance of the stress which result from switching is the main purpose of RC filters. Special precautions must be taken while designing and installing RC filters in order to ensure proper system operation. Hilkar provides optimum solutions for RC filter requirements in terms of design such as compactness, protective devices, wirewound or stainless steel grid resistor elements depending on self-inductance requirements (generally less than 10 µH), economic parameters, conductor type due to high frequency currents.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Hilkar provides complete technical assistance to contractors and end-customers for applications, design, calculations and field installation. All Hilkar RC filters are custom designed for different applications by considering all the required data to provide the most efficient design at the most economical prices. |
